The Sri Lanka Convention Bureau (SLCB) announces the Jaffna MICE Expo 2023, set from November 30 to December 3. This event aims to spotlight Northern Province as a burgeoning destination for meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE), inviting MICE agents and media from South India to explore its potential. Following a successful Colombo MICE Expo, the Northern Province emerged as a promising business tourism hub, especially for markets in South India with shared cultural ties. Sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and Lands, the expo will take place at Jetwing Jaffna and the Thinnai Hotel, offering a four-day program encompassing forums, meetings, a gala dinner, and a Jaffna tour.
Fully hosted buyers from South India, totaling 45, will receive travel, accommodation, and access to the event. The B2B sessions connect South Indian MICE representatives with local service providers. Additionally, the SLCB subsidizes packages for Colombo-based MICE operators to engage in the event, aiming to uplift Jaffna’s economy and promote sustainable growth.
